WHY THE NAME SILVER LAKE?

In 1966 WMC developed the first nickel orebody at Kambalda by sinking the Silver Lake shaft. It was aptly named after the nearby Lake Lefroy which can be seen shimmering in the summer sun. Kambalda went on to become one of the world's great mineral fields.

For us, the name "Silver Lake" represents perseverance, courage and the greatness that can come of small beginnings.
